Domo A Regato Mr Roboto
All hail the dancing robot. When QPR sold Peter Crouch to Portsmouth, they should have added a sell on clause. If Crouch scores in the World Cup Finals, you will pay us one meeeeellion dollars. When they had stopped laughing, Portsmouth would have said fine, how about two.
Graham Taylor, no stranger to dogs' abuse, pointed out yesterday that when someone attracts too much unfair criticism, the more reasonable majority will tend to get behind them. So it seems with Crouch, who is now playing with confidence (too much confidence on the penalty), and clearly has the backing of his team mates and fans. As such he's a half decent bet to be England's top scorer in Germany, 3 pts @ 6.8. Do it for the Superhoops Pete.

So he is. Personally I can't be bothered having accounts with every single bookie (although that doesn't apply to poker rooms), but that's a great bet if you're on there.

Rodney Trotter scores in the World Cup finals - you couldn't make it up.
When he was at Pompey he was nothing without Robert Prosinecki teeing them up for him - we improved after we got rid of him (Rodney that is).
The rest of the big hitters must be laughing their socks off that he'll be in our starting line up.
FWIW I've had a couple of interesting top goalscorer bets - each way being the ticket seeing as 3 goals will normally get you at least a share of the place market
McBride ew @ 350/1 - Betdirect
Big price in a market where 3 goals should at least a share a place
C Ronaldo ew @ 125/1 - Betdirect
Advanced role for him and 7 goals in 18 competitive internationals
Borgetti ew @ 66/1 - Betdirect
31 in 64 for Mexico - a much better player than we've had a chance to witness in the Premiership
Ballack ew @ 50/1 - PPower
30 in 63 for Germany - wanted bigger but 12/1 the place is just about acceptable
Larsson ew @ 80/1 - Betdirect
Still got it as proved in the CL final
Beckham ew @ 250/1 - Blue Square
Set piece and possible penalty taker.

I think Fat Frank's still on the penalties isn't he ?
There's certainly not much chance that Crouch is going to take any after Saturday :-)
